The Kalkaska COA offers coupons for great savings on DINING OUT at several area restaurants. Here’s how it works-
DINING OUT coupons are available in the COA office (303 S. Coral St) Monday through Friday, 8 to 4:30, for any senior (60+) or anyone younger than 60 if they are married to a senior. The coupons are available for a suggested donation of $4.00 each and must be used only by the person named on the coupon. You may use a Bridge Card to purchase Dining Out coupons. You are welcome to get these coupons for other seniors but you will need their birthdate.* The coupons make great birthday, holiday, anniversary, and just because gifts!
Each coupon entitles you to a meal** at one of the following restaurants:
BC Pizza-Kalkaska
Trout Town Tavern & Eatery– Kalkaska
Yankee Boy Restaurant– South Boardman
G’s Pizzeria– Kalkaska
*The DINING OUT Program is funded through donations, millage, and grants, and meets all the requirements of a senior nutrition program. One requirement is showing that those who use the program are 60 years and older or the spouse of a person 60 or older. There is no income minimum or maximum to participate in this program.
**There may be some menu limitations at the sites. Please see the menus booklet from the COA for all the program details.
The DINING OUT Program’s goal is to meet the nutritional and social needs of seniors in our community. This program is win-win; seniors can dine at times that meet their schedules and lifestyles while enjoying a nutritious meal provided by their local restaurants. As long as the cost does not exceed what it would cost for the Commission on Aging to provide the same meal in their facility, it is a cost savings for the COA.
